Venezuela wins gold medal in Women's Trios Central American and Caribbean Sports Games

2006CACSGWomensTriosVEN.jpg Karen Lugo and the Marcano sisters, Alicia and Karen (l-r), won the second gold medal for Venezuela in the Central American and Caribbean Sports Games when they averaged 204,22 en route to win the Women's Trios event.

Alicia led the way with 1269, Karen added 1214 and Lugo, who also won the gold medal in the opening Mixed Doubles event, had 1193 for 3676 pinfall total.

Paola Mendez of the Dominican Republic rolled the field-best 1286-series to lead team mates Annie Henriquez and Aumi Guerra to the silver medal. The trio totaled 3622 pins, an average of 201,22, to claim the first medal for their country in the 20th Central American and Caribbean Sports Game.

2006CASCGGuandiqueFerrer.jpg Elissa de Vallarino, Ivette Chen and Karen Holder won the first medal for Panama when they finished with 3556 pinfall total (197,56) to beat out Puerto Rico's Miriam Ayala, Yoselin Leon and Sasha Luciano for third pace by 18 pins (3538).

L-R During the bowling competition at Central American and Caribbean Sports Games, American Zone president, Jose Guandique, who is also the president of the Bowling Federation of El Salvador, honored his predecessor Alberto Ferrer of Colombia for his achievements as long-time president of the American Zone.
