Walter Ray Williams Jr. visits Teen Masters bowlers

Tuesday was practice day here at the 2006 Teen Masters Tournament National Finals, and the day gave TM finalists a chance to fine tune their games on the long and short Sport Bowling oil patterns.
Tuesday was also highlighted by a visit from one of the greatest bowlers in the world, Walter Ray Williams Jr. Walter signed autographs and posed for photos with hundreds of youth bowlers in a three-hour autograph session.
Walter signed bowling pins, shirts, photos, and anything else kids brought to the table as his wife Paige assisted with special souvenir items. "I really enjoyed meeting the kids," he said, and he wished them the best of luck in this week's tournament.

Today is "Long Oil" day at the Teen Masters with two squads rolling their first 6 games of qualifying at 8 am and 1 pm. Tomorrow, the squads will be reversed with B squad bowling at 8 am, and the pattern will be "Short Oil". After Wednesday's competition, the field will be cut to the top 33%, and after six more games to the top 32 boys and top 16 girls.
