The 2006 Teen Masters National Finals is now down to the final four in both girls and boys divisions at Boardwalk Family Entertainment Center in Orlando, Fla. Three of the boys quarterfinal best-of-five matches went the distance.
In the afternoon at Universal Studios Sound Stage 33, Jon Brady eliminated Chris Jackson 3-2. Down two-games-to-one, Brady rebounded for a 3-2 win by winning games four and five easily 199-124 and 189-142. Brady (left) will meet Brett Cunningham (right) in the first semi-final. Cunningham came back from being down 0-2 to defeat Matt Tuckfield 3-2.
In flight two, Jake Peters ousted Craig Wellbrock 3-1. After Peters took a 1-0 lead, Wellbrock posted a huge 234 in game two to level the match. Peters rebounded with a 234 in game three and out the match away with a 191-147 win in game 4. Peters (right) will take on 2005 TM Champion John Szczerbinski (left) in the other semi-final. Szczerbinski rolled four big games to defeat Robert Warren 3-1 in the quarterfinal. Szczerbinski won the first two games 222-184 and 181 before losing 213-211. Warren rolled another 313 in game 4 but Szczerbinski ended the match with 237.
Brady, Cunningham, Szczerbinski and Peters join Ashly Galante, Jasmine Coleman, Brittni Hamilton, Ashley Stahurski in the final four. On Saturday evening the Round of 4 girls will roll at 5 pm and the Round of 4 boys will roll at 7 pm to determine the two boay and two girls who will advance to tomorrow's ESPN2 televised national finals.
