Metro Bowl in Guatemala City, Guatemala (May 27 - June 3, 2007)

GTMBFLogo.jpg The First FIQ/WTBA American Zone Men's Championship will be held at Metro Bowl in Guatemala City, Guatemala from May 27 through June 3, 2007.

15 countries, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, United States, US Virgin Islands and Venezuela will compete with maximum six players Singles, Doubles, Trios, 5-Player Team, All Events and Masters.

GilbertSnijders_JoseGuandique.jpg The President of the American Zone, José Guandique (on the right) from El Salvador, believes that "with the spontaneous confirmation of the affiliated federations of the Pan American Bowling Federations, the success of the championship is assured". Guandique also announced that the Technical Committee will consist of the following members: Gustavo Lopez, Tournament Administrator; John Davis, Technical Delegate and Gilbert Snijders (on the left), Tournament Director.

The "Extra Ordinary Conference" will take place on May 26th at 10 am in the host hotel of the championship, Clarion Suites, and it has only one subject on the agenda: the revision and amendments in the FIQ / WTBA American Zone constitution, and the acceptance of the recommendations of the delegates to bring the rules of the Pan American Bowling Federation up to date.

The modifications of the constitution as well as the rules already have been proposed by the presidents of 17 American Zone bowling federations during a special forum at the beginning of March 2007 in San Salvador, Capital City of the Republic of El Salvador.
