Kirk von Krueger and staff will give TM National Finals the look and feel of a PBA national event

TeenMastersLogo118q.jpg What's it like to play in the big leagues? Hundreds of 2006 Teen Masters national finalists will find out August 1-5 when they participate in the TM National Finals at Orlando's Boardwalk Family Entertainment Center and in the TM Arena Finals at Universal Studios Orlando.

After months of local Teen Masters qualifying events, over 700 youth bowlers will travel to Orlando, Florida to compete for thousands in scholarships, and the boy and girl who win will earn $7500 each in college scholarship money.

The preliminary rounds of the finals at beautiful 80-lane Boardwalk Family Entertainment Center and the 16-player (8 boys and 8 girls) arena finals at Universal Studios Orlando will be officiated by the Professional Bowlers Association National Tour Director Kirk von Krueger and his event staff, complete with big screen electronic standings boards, interaction with fans between games or rounds and all the amenities provided to the pros at a national PBA tournament.

"The PBA is committed to the advancement of youth bowling, and we're proud to be able to work with Gary Beck and his staff in this very successful and important youth event," said von Krueger. "We think it's a great opportunity for both of us." Beck's Killer 'B' Promotions also partners with the PBA in scheduling new national tournaments for the 2006-07 PBA season.

"No one has more experience or operates tournaments better than the PBA National Tour, and we are very proud to be able to offer our Teen Masters finalists the very best event staff in the sport," said Beck. "Some of our bowlers will someday be in PBA events, so why not give them a taste of what it's like in the Teen Masters?"

PBA champion Chris Barnes is an official spokesperson for the Teen Masters, and he will be conducting exhibitions and his 'Chris Barnes Leaders Challenge' during the festive week. On July 31, prior to the start of the event, Barnes 'Leaders Challenge' and the 'Last Chance' qualifying event will be conducted in Orlando.

The Teen Masters bowlers, their parents, and fans will notice the 'PBA atmosphere' in both sight and sound in Orlando with the big screen scoreboards, plasma TV screens, announcements and introductions of players. Something they will not see visually, but will definitely experience, are the precise PBA oiling patterns on the event lanes.

These sport-compliant lane conditions will further enhance the prestige and insure the credibility of the event, while creating instant respect for those who play the game well. It will also provide the challenge today's youth bowlers are looking for in the sport.

The Teen Masters is bowling's most exciting and rewarding youth singles championship event. The 9th Annual TM is presented by Gary Beck's Killer 'B' Promotions and sponsored by USBC Sport Bowling, the Professional Bowlers Association, Bowling Proprietors Association of America, Columbia 300 Industries, and Etonic.

Qualifying will be held March through July, leading to the TM National Finals August 1-5 in Orlando, Florida. It is open to all high school and younger bowlers who are certified USBC members.
