Korean men cruise to the Team title at 21 Asian Championships

    UAE, Kuwait take silver and bronze; Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong becomes All Events champion

    2011AsCM5Korea.jpg2011AsCMAEWuSiuHong.jpgOvernight leader Korea (pictured left) with Choi Bok-Eum, Choi Yong-Kyu, Suh Sang-Cheon, Hong Hae-Sol, Cho Young-Seon and Jang Dong-Chul claimed the men's Team gold at the 21st Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi,. The host country UAE got silver and Kuwait took bronze. Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong (right) was crowned All Events champion while Cho Young-Seon, Korea, and Bahrain's Yousif Falah got silver and bronze.

    107 men from 20 countries - Australia, Bahrain, Chinese, Taipei, Egypt, Hong, Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand and UAE - participated in the men's division at the 21st Asian Championships.

    The top 16 in All Events (combined results of Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team) - total 24 games) advanced to the Masters finals, which will conclude the 21st Asian Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

    Five Koreans, four from UAE, two from Malaysia and one each from Bahrain, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kuwait and Thailand will bowl 16 games of round robin match play - eight games on medium oil on Saturday and eight games on short oil on Sunday - to cut to the top three players who will bowl for the medals in a stepladder final.
