Ontario's Sandy Lowe named to Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame

2010BWCSandyLowe.jpgSandy Lowe, Lindsay, Ontario has been named as the 16th member of the Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame in the Athlete's category. Lowe joins 15 other athletes, one veteran and nine builders in the national tenpin hall.

The presentation will be held at the closing banquet of the National Championships which will take place in Montreal, Quebec, May 21-23, 2011.

Lowe, was a member of Team Canada from 1992-1996 and 1999-2002 and had a successful international bowling career. She earned five gold, seven silver and six bronze medals during her participation in 24 international tournaments.

The 1993 Women Bowler of the Year won gold in women's masters, all event and trios at the 1993 American Zone (now Pan American Bowling Confederation) Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico.

In 1995 she earned the gold medal in the women's team event at the Pan American Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her fifth gold medal was earned in the team event of the Commonwealth Tenpin Championships in Cumbernald, Scotland.

CTFLogo2_small.jpgThe Canadian Tenpin Federation was formed in 1969 to qualify representatives for international competition. . CTF became a full membership organization on August 1, 2004 to deliver membership services to 40,000 plus registered tenpin bowlers in Canada.

Memberships services had previously been provided by the American Bowling Congress, the Women's International Bowling Congress and the Young American Bowling Alliance who were headquartered in the USA.
