Thanks to a fourth place finish in the inaugural Lucky Larsen Masters in Malmö, Pontus Andersson of Sweden took over the lead in the 2017 European Bowling Tour men’s point ranking.

Andersson, who was looking to win his second consecutive title after his victory in the
Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open in July, overtook previous leader Carsten Warming Hansen of Denmark by 27 points, 557 to 530.

Dominic Barrett of England, who did not compete in Malmö, and tournament namesake Martin Lucky Larsen, slipped to third and fourth place with 505 and 476 points, respectively.

Stuart Williams of England (401) and Francois Lavoie of Canada (384) leaped into fifth and sixth place, while Francois Louw of South Africa dropped to seventh place with 380 points. Rounding out the top 8, who will advance to the 2018 EBT Masters, is currently four-time EBT point ranking winner Osku Palermaa of Finland with 321 points.

Jari Ratia, Finland, used a third place finish in Malmö to jump into 13th place with 221 points, while Lucky Larsen Masters winner Jason Belmonte of Australia and runner-up Cameron Weier, United States, earned their first points this season to sit in 15th and 22nd place with 200 and 160 points, respectively.

The 2017 European Bowling Tour features 11 tournaments in 9 countries including two “Platinum” events, two “Gold”, one “Silver”, three “Bronze” and three “Satellite” events, which offer total prize fund of roughly 560.000 Euro.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 11th EBT Masters February 12, 2018 in Tilburg, Netherlands.
