IGRIND Classic highlights this weekend's PBA Regional Schedule; Xtra Frame to provide U.S. Open coverage; Parker Bohn III turns 50 but unsure of what PBA50 Tour future holds; Young standouts in PBA competition medal in PABCON Youth Championships

PBA Hall of Famer Danny Wiseman (pictured left) of Baltimore topped Adam Chase of West Babylon, N.Y. 229-200 to win the East Region record $12,500 first prize in the PBA Appletree Classic at Mid-County Bowling and Entertainment Center in Middletown, Del. for his 12th PBA regional title. Chase earned $6,700 for second.

15-time PBA Tour titlist and winner of the recent Lucas Oil Milwaukee Open Chris Barnes (right) won the $8,000 first prize in the PBA Lubbock Super Regional presented by Track at South Plains Lanes in Lubbock.

Barnes defeated PBA Tour and PBA50 Tour titlist Mike Edwards 235-227 in the championship match to win his 24th regional title. Edwards earned $4,700 for second. Other PBA Tour stars Wes Malott and Mike Fagan finished third and fourth, respectively.

Eddie VanDaniker Jr. (pictured left) of Chatsworth, Calif., defeated five-time PBA Tour winner Chris Warren of Grants Pass, Ore., 224-203, to win the PBA Wine Country West/Northwest Open Presented by Track at Double Decker Lanes in Rohnert Park, Calif. He earned $2,000 in winning his second PBA regional title.

2012 PBA South Region Rookie of the Year Connor Pickford (right) of Charlotte, N.C., won the 25th annual PBA Thunder Bay Builders Spring Hill South Open at Spring Hill Lanes in Spring Hill, Fla., by defeating PBA Hall of Famer Walter Ray Williams Jr. in the title match 280-236 for his second PBA Regional title. Pickford earned $2,500 and Williams $1,300 for second.

IGRIND Autism Awareness Midwest/Central Classic highlights this weekend's PBA Regional Schedule

This weekend the PBA Regional calendar features the PBA's richest regional event, beginning with the IGRIND Autism Awareness Midwest/Central Classic at Tinley Bowl in Tinley Park, Ill., July 18-20 with a guaranteed record $15,000 first prize.

A star-studded field of PBA Tour stars expected to compete before they head to next week's U.S. Open in Columbus includes Jason Belmonte, Sean Rash, Chris Barnes, Tommy Jones, Ryan Ciminelli, Eugene McCune and Tom Daugherty among others.

Also on tap this weekend (July 19-21) the PBA Southwest Region will conduct the PBA50 Horseshoe Casino Shreveport (La.) Southwest Open at All-Star Lanes; the PBA West and Northwest Regions will combine for the PBA and PBA50 Sands Regency West/Northwest Doubles events presented by Track at High Sierra Lanes in Reno; the PBA Central Region will host a "reduced entry fee" Don Kondas Memorial Central Open at Legend Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and the PBA South Region will offer the PBA Wilson & Sons Termite Pest Control Super Senior South Open (for players ages 60 and older) at George Pappas Victory Lanes in Mooresville, N.C.

Over the July 26-28 weekend, the PBA Central Region will host the Angola Central/Midwest Open at Angola Bowl in Angola, Ind.; the PBA Midwest Region will host a joint PBA50 St. Charles Lanes Midwest/Central Region Open in St. Charles, Mo.; the PBA East Region will offer the PBA50 Mil-Ray Roods Eastern Open presented by Roto Grip at Playdrome Cherry Hill (N.J.); and the PBA South Region will conduct the PBA50 Yorktown (Va.) South Open at AMF York Lanes.

Closing the month, the PBA Central Region will host the joint PBA50 Progressive/Gerdeman Insurance/Al Smith Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep Central/Midwest Classic at Al-Mar Lanes in Bowling Green, Ohio.

33-time PBA Tour titlist Parker Bohn III turns 50 but unsure of what PBA50 Tour future holds

PBA Hall of Famer Parker Bohn III (pictured left) recently turned 50 but the 33-time PBA Tour and World Championship titlist isn't quite sure yet where the PBA50 Tour is going to fit in his schedule.

He planned to bowl one of the three remaining 2013 PBA 50 Tour stops this season but a recent commitment connected with his position as a Brunswick product specialist has put that possible debut on hold.

"Eventually, I'm going to be out there but it looks like it will be next season and most likely on a part-time basis," Bohn said. Between the regular tour, my position with Brunswick, and my family I have a pretty full schedule."

As for turning 50 to become eligible for the PBA50 Tour, it's a milestone he never thought he'd reach.

"Obviously when you're younger, 50 seems a long way away and I really never gave much thought about it. But now it's here so I'll look forward at some point to competing with the guys next season."

Kamron Doyle, Wesley Low are multiple medal winners in PABCON Youth Championships

Junior Team USA players and young standouts in PBA competition, Kamron Doyle of Brentwood, Tenn. and Wesley Low of Palmdale, Calif. were multiple medal winners in the PABCON Youth Championships boy's division which ended last week in Puerto Rico.

Low, the youngest to win a PBA event when he won a regional at age 15 in April, teamed with singles gold medalist Matt Farber to win gold in Doubles and Doyle, the youngest to cash in a PBA event (a regional at age 12) and the youngest to cash in a PBA Tour event (in the 2012 U.S. Open at age 14), teamed with Greg Young to earn the doubles silver.

Doyle, Low, Young and Farber won the Team gold while Doyle, Low and Farber also took silver in Trios. In All Events Doyle won the gold and Low the silver. Farber also won gold in Singles.
