The Bowling Foundation Fundraisers abound at Bowl Expo 2007

    Golf Tournament, "Mystery Squares" and Bowler Statue Auction to Benefit Youth and Education Projects

    Plans for a benefit golf tournament to be held on Sunday, June 24th prior to the official opening of International Bowl Expo 2007 in Las Vegas are underway, according to The Bowling Foundation and the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA).

    The Bowling Foundation Benefit Golf Tournament will tee off at 7:30 am and continue until approximately 1 p.m. The Wildhorse Golf Club will host the "All Play - Scramble" tournament. Wildhorse Golf Club is home to one of the toughest golf holes in Southern Nevada but is a great venue for golfers of all ability levels. The championship, par 70 layout is a local's favorite, and a former stop on the PGA Tour. The fees for the tournament are $135 per player, or $525 per foursome. The fee includes onboard GPS system in every cart to give you accurate yardage; unlimited use of the practice facility; barbeque lunch; beverages; water and iced towels on every cart; green fees and shared golf cart fee; complimentary shuttle to and from the Mandalay Bay; and great prizes. The Bowling Foundation is also selling tickets for its second-annual "Mystery Squares" fundraising event. Winning begins Wednesday, June 27th in the BPAA booth from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. with the grand prize being awarded at 3:15 p.m. The Bowling Foundation's limited edition "youth bowler" bronze statue depicting a young boy in bowling motion with the engraved caption, "Youth: Foundation of Bowling's Future," attached to the base of the statue, will be auctioned off at Bowl Expo as well. Proceeds from all these fundraising events will support youth and education projects including Bowler's Ed, In-School Bowling, Coach It Up, On-line Training and scholarships.
