The Professional Bowlers Association has announced a series of 10 Xtra Frame PBA Tour events for the balance of the 2016 season, featuring a $10,000 winner-take-all points champion bonus, leading into the end-of-season PBA World Series of Bowling VIII at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., in December.

Complementing the domestic events on the 2016 schedule will be a series of PBA International-World Bowling Tour events which are currently underway in the Middle East and Europe.

The “PBA Maine Event” at Bayside Bowl in Portland, which will include the PBA League Elias Cup finals and the bowlingball.com PBA Maine Shootout presented by Xtra Frame, will provide the kickoff to the PBA’s 2016 Xtra Frame Tour series which will include tournaments across the United States.

Each XF PBA Tour event will award a PBA Tour title to the winner, a minimum $10,000 first prize and the player with the most competition points for the entire series will earn a new $10,000 bonus.

Following the bowlingball.com PBA Maine Shootout presented by Xtra Frame, which will be held April 4-6, the Xtra Frame tour will include stops in Carpentersville and Aurora, Ill.; Jonesboro, Ark.; Lubbock and Houston, Texas; Middletown, Del.; Detroit, Tamarac, Fla.. and Memphis, Tenn.

In each XF PBA Tour event, the winning player will earn 25 points toward the end-of-series bonus. Second place will earn 19 points, third place 18 points, fourth place 17 points, etc., down to 20th place, which will be worth one point.

Players can enter the XF PBA Tour events by visiting pba.com and clicking on the Schedules tab to find the appropriate event under the PBA Tour link.

2016WBTLogo.jpgThe 2016 World Bowling Tour schedule includes the recently-completed H.H. Emir Cup in Qatar (won by PBA member Danielle McEwan), the 14th Kingdom of Bahrain Championship (won by amateur Ahmed Al Awadhi); the Brunswick Euro Challenge in Munich, Germany, March 13-20, and events later in the year in Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

PBA Tour titles will be awarded to each winner if he/she is a PBA member and bowls without accepting handicap pins. Thus McEwan didn’t earn a PBA title for her win in Qatar because she accepted 8 handicap pins per game.

All WBT events award points toward World Bowling’s two-year, rolling competition points standings leading to the annual World Bowling Tour Men’s and Women’s Finals presented by the PBA.

PBA’s 2016 season will conclude with the PBA World Series of Bowling VIII at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., Nov. 27-Dec. 11. The detailed WSOB schedule will be announced soon.
