World Bowling, the governing body for the sport of bowling, has added the Storm PBA/PWBA Striking Against Breast Cancer in Houston, Texas, USA, in July and the 15th New Mexico Open in Rio Rancho, N.M. in August to the World Bowling Tour 2018 schedule.

The WBT 2018 now features twelve stops, five in Germany, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand, Hong Kong and seven stops on U.S. soil. More events may be added, at least 3 months’ notice provided.

For the first time in World Bowling Tour history, a three-tier system has been introduced.

  • Tier 1 events: Athletes receive six times the number of WBT Ranking points. Events have more than $200,000USD prize money, an elite field of competitors and event prestige.
  • Tier 2 events: Athletes receive four times the number of WBT Ranking points. Events have between $100,000 and $200,000USD prize money and a solid field of competitors.
  • Tier 3 events: Athletes receive two times the number of WBT Ranking points. Events have between $50,000 and $100,000USD prize money.
