Due to the recent changes in the leadership of World Bowling, bowling’s world governing body, the announcement of the preliminary schedule for the 2016 World Bowling Tour has been postponed until Monday, Jan. 4.

The schedule currently features 10 tournaments, including six in the Middle East, two in the U.S., and one each in Germany and Thailand.

The WBT kicks off its sixth season with The H.H. Emir Cup 2016 in Doha, Qatar, in February and concludes with the lone WBT “major” on the schedule so far, the PBA World Championship to be held during the PBA World Series of Bowling VIII in Reno, Nev., in December 2016.

Players earn ranking points based on how they finish in each event. “Majors” award double points. The current points system is based on a continuous two-year cycle. The top three men and top three women in the points list will compete in the season-ending World Bowling Tour Finals (date and venue tba).
