Dave McIntyre wins $15,000 at the Summer Firecracker Classic

Dave McIntyre, a handicap bowler of Yucca Valley, Calif., won the 2012 Summer Firecracker Classic at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas, Nev.
McIntyre won the $15,000 top prize by defeating two former Mini-Eliminator champions, senior bowler Cliff Connors and Alex Aguiar, the 45 & under champion, 210-204-195. Connors received $7,500 for second place and Aguiar earned $5,000 for third place.

The final shootout was one of the most exciting in Mini-Eliminator history. Going into the final frame all three bowlers had a chance at the title.
McIntyre, who averages 170, needed a strike in the tenth frame to secure the title and he came through by throwing a "Brooklyn" strike. He is the first handicap bowler ever to win a title in the 20-year history of Mini-Eliminator tournaments.
The 2012 Summer Firecracker Classic attracted a crowd of over 500 entries. Over $60,000 in prize money was distributed to 125 bowlers.
Darwin Wimer of Mesquite, Nev. hit the "Strikes for Cash" jackpot early in the week worth $2,300. Brunswick gave out their latest Nexus and C System high end balls which scored very well throughout the week.
Scoring was moderate as Kegel maintained the lanes using their "Abbey Road" pattern.
