Andrew Cain improves high series in Open Division by one pin

Multiple Team USA member Andrew Cain (pictured) shot a 737 three-game series in the 23rd qualifying squad at the Super Bowl Mini Eliminator to overtake the previous high series in the Open Division set by Lenny Boresch by one pin. If nobody beats his score in the final qualifying spot the lefty from Chandler, AZ, will earn a berth into the Grand Finale tomorrow at 4pm and is guaranteed $1,250.
The players with the highest daily 3-game series from each of the five main divisions do not bowl in the Daily Finals. 1 in 8 players in each division advance every day to the Daily Finals and battle it out for the second spot for the Grand Finale in each division.
Other squad leaders in Squad 23 (out of 26) were Joel Reynoso (pictured), Las Vegas, NV, 686 in the 39 and under Division; Jeff Garrison, Hawthorne, CA, set a new high series in the 40-49 Division with 698; John Masiello, Kenmore, NY, 629 in the 50-59 Division; and Dutch Christian Stout 638 in the 205 and under Division. Shalin Zulkifli from Malaysia set the pace in the Women's Division with 587.
Cuts to the finals for the woman and the Super Seniors (60 and over) are done on a daily basis. All advancing women will bowl in their appropriate age division in the Daily Finals, while the Senior and the Super Senior division will be combined.
