Indonesians Lalisang, Limansantoso take the lead in Masters at Asian Championships

Ryan Lalisang and Sharon Limansantoso, both of Indonesia, took the lead in the men's and women's Masters match play after the first eight games on medium oil at the 21st Asian Championships Saturday at Khalifa Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Lalisang outaveraged his nearest competitor by more than 23 pins and won seven of his eight matches to take a commanding 205-pin lead in the men's division. Lalisang averaged 244 and totaled 2022 pins including 10 pins bonus for each win.
Second place belonged to Khaled Al-Dubyyan of Kuwait who had a 5-3 won-loss record and an 1817 total. Jang Dong-Chul of Korea was third with 1794 (4-3-1).
Before the final eight-game block on short oil, Choi Bok-Eum, Korea, who posted two 300 games on the short pattern during the Championships, sits in sixth place with 1744 (5-3) and All Events champion Wu Siu Hong, was eighth with 1715 (3-5).
On the women's side, Limansantoso also won all but one game finishing with 1852 including 70 pins bonus and an average of 222.75. Haruka Matsuda, Japan was second with 1843 after going 5-3 in match play.
The next three places belong to the favorite from Korea. Jeon Eun-Hee, who won the bronze medal in the 2008 Asian Championships, was third with 1796 (6-2) and All Events champion Hwang Sun-Ok was tied with Son Yun-Hee for fourth place at 1747, both including a 3-5 won-loss record.
The top 16 men and women in All Events (combined results of Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team) - total 24 games) advanced to the Masters finals, which will conclude the 21st Asian Championships.
All players will bowl 16 games of round robin match play - eight games on medium oil on Saturday and eight games on short oil on Sunday - to cut to the top three players who will bowl for the medals in a stepladder final.

Second 8-game block on short oil and three-player stepladder finals to follow on Sunday
