« Bryanna Coté wins first title at 2016 PWBA Lexington Open

The 2016 Tour featured 15 tournaments in seven States, Florida, North Carolina, New York, Nevada, California, Minnesota and Indiana, and included four “majors”, PBA Senior U.S. Open, USBC Senior Masters, PBA50 World Championship and PBA50 National Championship and two tournaments for players 60 years and older.
PBA Hall of Famers Pete Weber and Amleto Monacelli were the only multiple winners this season. Though missing a couple of events at the end of the season due to a competing in eight events due
Weber, who has not bowled the last three tournaments this season while nursing a lingering hip injury, dominated the 2016 season winning a record six PBA50 Tour titles.
He improved his all-time PBA titles total to 99, tying Walter Ray Williams Jr. in their race to become the first bowler in PBA history to win a combined total of 100 PBA Tour, PBA Regional, PBA50 Tour and PBA50 Regional titles.
Weber, who now has 10 PBA50 Tour titles, also has won 37 PBA Tour titles, a PBA-record 48 Regional titles and four PBA50 Regional titles.
In winning the season-ending PBA50 National Championship for his second title of the season, Monacelli (right) became the only multiple champion this season.
The 2016 PBA50 Tour also determined the top eight players in points who will earn paid entries into GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling VIII in Reno where they also will compete in a PBA50 Tour Challenge qualifier.

The top two players from the qualifier will advance to the PBA Challenge Finals along with top PBA Regional, PWBA-PBA Women’s Regional and Teen Masters contestants. Points awarded for PBA50 majors will be worth one and a half times of those awarded for a standard PBA50 Tour event.
