« Malaysia’s Sin Li Jane triumphs in 48th Brunswick Ballmaster Open

The 22-year-old two-handed lefty (pictured right), who has won the rankings in 2015 and was second in 2016, has accumulated 270 points, 150 in the season-opening AIK International Tournament and 120 in the Ballmaster Open, to maintain a 10-point lead over 21-year-old Rafiq Ismail (left) of Malaysia, who remained in second place with 260 points, including 140 from Helsinki.
Kimmo Lehtonen (right and above) of Finland, who fell in the title match of the Ballmaster Open to Malaysia’s Sin Li Jane, 277-173, and received 200 points for leading the men’s ranking in the EBT “gold” level tournament, jumped into third place.
Anthony Simonsen and Bill O’Neill (left), United States leaped into fourth and fifth place with 169 and 160 points, respectively.
Rounding out the top 8, who will qualify for the season-ending EBT Masters, are Sweden’s James Gruffman (158), Filip Wilhelmsson (114) and Osku Palermaa (right) of Finland (107).
The third tournament of the 2018 European Bowling Tour season, the 30th Anniversary Irish Open Championships 2018, in association with Storm, a “satellite” level event, got underway Sunday, January 14, at Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland, and will conclude on Sunday, January 21.
The 2018 European Bowling Tour features 13 tournaments in 10 countries including two “platinum”, two “gold”, three “silver”, three “bronze” and three “satellite” events, which will offer total prize fund of more than 560.000 Euro.
The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 12th EBT Masters July 8, 2019 at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.
