Players in the men’s and women’s Open Masters divisions will compete for total prize fund of 1.117.000 Baht or 35,677 U.S. Dollar with $10,540 going to the men’s winner, while the women’s champion receives $3,515.
Qualifying in the Open Masters divisions features three five-game blocks over three days (April 11-13). The top 3 local and the top 3 overseas qualifiers in both divisions with the highest 15-game total earn one bye and will be seeded in Round Three.
The top 20 men of the Mixed Pool plus the top 4 of the Desperado Squad and the top 16 women of the Mixed Pool advance to Round Two. Each player bowls six games from scratch to cut to the top 14 men and the top 10 women.
The remaining 20 men and 16 women bowl another six-game block from scratch to cut to the top 6 players for the stepladder finals.
The fourth, fifth and sixth seeds meet in the opening shootout match with the winner facing the second and third seeds in the semi-final. The winner of that match must defeat the top seed twice to win the title.
The top 16 Asian men and the top 16 Asian women qualify for the 2018 Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) Tour Thailand leg, which will be held on Sunday, April 15, again at Blu–O Rhythm & Bowl Siam Paragon.
