Shayna Ng of Singapore defeated Kelly Kulick of the United States, 248-201, in the final showdown of the arena-style Eliminator finals at Inazawa Futsal Stadium in Inazawa City, Japan, to win the women's title and six million Yen of the International Bowling Championships 2013 supported by DHC.

It was the second consecutive victory in the IBC for a Singaporean women after Ng's team mate on the national team, Cherie Tan, has won the 2012 event. Ng, who led the 15-game preliminaries after each of the five three-game rounds battled it out for the title with No. 2 Liz Johnson, United States; No. 3 Zandra Aziela, Malaysia; No. 4 Kulick and No. 5 Miki Nishimura, Japan, who was seeded fifth in the finals as no local women finished in the top 5.

All five players bowled one game with the lowest two players eliminated. The remaining three players bowled a second game with the lowest player eliminated. The two survivors then bowled for the title and the enormous first prize.

In the opening match, Johnson, a two-time WTBA World Champion and U.S. Open and USBC Queens winner, bowled a clean game including a turkey and two doubles to set the pace with 237. Nishimura (right) started with a double, but fell behind due to a huge washout in the third frame, which she was unable to convert.

The Japanese player, who had by far the highest back swing of all competitors, was unable to double again before the ninth and tenth frame, where she was already shut out. She finished fifth with 195 and received 600,000.

The other three players fought for the remaining two spots in the semifinals. Ng, who had a big split in the sixth frame, rebounded with a four-bagger and was safe with 218. Aziela (left) had the only other clean game in the round and managed 212 including two doubles. However, the Malaysian was the only player who had no strike in the foundation frame.

Kulick spared in the tenth frame and needed a nine-count on her fill ball to advance. The reigning World Champion in Singles, who made bowling history by winning the 2010 PBA Tournament of Champions, calmly struck for 214 to seal Aziela's fate. She earned 800,000 Yen for fourth place.

Ng, who holds World Championships record for six games with 1601 (266.83 average), out bowled the U.S. stars in the semifinal match. She took the lead with a double in the second and third frame and put the match out of reach for the Americans with a six-bagger from frame six to ten finishing with 252.

Kulick and Johnson (right), team mates on Team USA, both were going for 236. While Kulick struck out in her tenth frame, Johnson suffered a 6-7-10 split on her first ball to hand the match to Kulick, 236-201. Johnson pocketed 1.5 million Yen for third place.

In the title match, Ng missed a 10-pin spare in the opening frame but leveled the match in the third frame due to strikes in the third, fourth and fifth frame. Kulick (left) countered with two strikes before she missed the headpin to right and failed convert 1-2-4-7.

Ng (right) jumped on it and connected for a five bagger including three lucky breaks on the right lane. Kulick was unable to put any pressure on the Singaporean converting three single-pin spares in frames 7 to 9. Ng fired a perfect shot on the right lane and sealed the victory with the three strikes in the tenth frame.

Before the last strike, Kulick quickly closed out her game with three strikes, to gave her opponent the opportunity to finish last and to get the well deserved applause by the audience. Kulick was consoled with three million Yen for second place.
