In a final between the two top seeded players, No. 1 Thomas Gross (left), Austria defeated No. 2 Paul Moor (right), England, 199-193, en route to win the Danish Masters Classic at World Cup Hallen in Rodovre, Denmark. Gross earned his first European Bowling Tour title this season and the 7.000 Euro top prize. Moor, who was targeting for back-to-back titles and his third title in 2006, received 3.500 for finishing second.

Multiple Austrian champion Thomas Gross rolled games of 227, 245, 234, 170, 248 and 257 in the penultimate qualifying squad on Saturday en route to win the qualifying in Danish Masters Classic with 1381 pinfall total and an average of 230,17. Previous leader Paul Moor from England slipped to second with 1381. Kim Bolleby, Sweden and Reija Lunden, Finland, tied for 1313 to lead the 24th and final squad and to crack the top 16, who will bypass the first round of the finals.
The top 44 players after qualifying plus the top four from the 'Desperado Squad' advanced to the finals on Sunday. Christian Nagel beat out Bo Christian Nielsen, both Denmark, both 1263, fort he 44th and final spot thanks to the higher last game, 225-194.

Dane Allan Bryde posted a 1351 six-series on Tuesday to shoot into the lead in the Danish Masters Classic at World Cup Hallen in Rodovre near Copenhagen after the first week. Bryde started the 8th of 25 qualifying squads with 224 before he suffered a disastrous 148-game. He rebounded with 251, 244, 248 and 236 to overtake previous leader Anders Hansen by 55 pins.
