2016 European Bowling Tour announces schedule changes and withdrawal of Russian Open

17th season now features 17 tournaments in 12 countries including 3 Platinum, 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Satellite tournaments offering total prize fund of roughly 910.000 Euro

2016EBTLogo_small.jpg The European Bowling Tour has announced that three tournaments, San Marino Open, Dream-Bowl Palace Open and Polish Open have changed the dates for the 2016 season. Also, the Russian Open has withdrawn from the Tour. Heading into the 17th season since the inception in the year 2000 the EBT will consist of 17 tournaments in 12 countries including three "Platinum" events as well as four "Gold", four "Silver" and 6 "Satellite" events, offering total prize fund of roughly 910.000 Euro.

European Bowling Tour announces rule changes for 2017 EBT season

2017EBTLogo_small.jpg At a meeting prior to the European Champions Cup in San Marino, the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) presidium has decided several changes to the European Bowling Tour rules effective for the Tour's 2017 season. The presidium has added a "Bronze" category to its existing four categories (lowest to highest category: Satellite, Silver, Gold and Platinum), adjusted the ranking point system accordingly and made several changes to the requirements within the respective categories.

Brunswick names Dream-Bowl Palace host of Brunswick Euro Challenge through 2018

2015BECLogo_small.jpgBrunswick Bowling officials have announced that the Dream-Bowl Palace will continue to host the annual Brunswick Euro Challenge through 2018. Since its start in 2004, the Brunswick Euro Challenge has established itself as one of the largest bowling events in Europe, attracting a mix of promising amateur players and PBA stars from Europe, Asia, and the U.S. The tournament has been held at the state-of-the-art, 52-lane facility in Unterföhring, Germany, for the past four years.

Brunswick Euro Challenge moves from Paris to Munich in 2013

10th anniversary of the European Bowling Tour Platinum tournament to be held at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany, March 19 to 24, 2013

2013BECLogo_small.jpgValcke Bowling and Brunswick have announced today that the Brunswick Euro Challenge, a European Bowling Tour Platinum event and Europe's richest tournament, will move from Paris, France, to Munich, Germany, in 2013. The 10th anniversary tournament will be held from March 19 to 24 at 52-lane Dream-Bowl Palace in suburban Munich. The tournament schedule has been adjusted due to the new location and registration will open December 15.

Eurosport 2 to air the stepladder finals of the Brunswick Ballmaster Open on Thursday

Eurosport2Logo_small.jpgEurosport International - the No. 1 pan-European TV channel, will be showing the stepladder finals of the 42nd Brunswick Ballmaster Open on Thursday, April 5, at 23:00 CET on Eurosport 2. The Ballmaster was the season-opening event of the 2012 European Bowling Tour. Four PBA champions, Bill O'Neill, United States; Mika Koivuniemi, Finland; Mike Fagan, United States; and Dominic Barrett, England, bowled for the title and the 12.000 Euro top prize.

ETBF announces sites and venues for European Bowling Tour Masters 2014 and 2015

2014EBTMastersLogo_small.jpg The presidium of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) has announced the sites and venues for the European Bowling Tour Masters 2014 and 2015. The EBT Masters 2014, the men's and women's finals of the 2013 European Bowling Tour, will be held March 3, 2014 at Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands, while the EBT Masters 2015 takes place June 29, 2015 at Bowling Red & Black in Asti, Italy.

Giovanni Battagli continued to lead the field of 206 players from seven countries with 1312. Qualifying continues on Wednesday, Nov. 9, with Squads 10 and 11.

ETBF announces changes in European Bowling Tour schedule for 2011 and 2012

2009ETBFLogo_small.jpgThe European Tenpin Bowling Federation has announced some major changes in the European Bowling Tour 2011 and 2012. The 2011 English Open originally scheduled for Nov. 16-20 in Nuneaton has lost its EBT (silver) status after changing to a "conditional prize fund" which is not permitted according to the EBT rules. The 2011 European Bowling Tour now consists of 20 tour stops in 16 countries including two Platinum, six Gold, six Silver and six Satellite tournaments. In addition, two date changes were accepted for the 2012 Tour.

2012EBTLogo_small.jpgThe presidium of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) has announced the dates and venues for the 2012 European Bowling Tour. The 13th edition of the Tour will consist of record 23 tournaments, two "Platinum", five "Gold", nine "Silver" and seven "Satellite" events. 20 out of 21 EBT tournaments from the 2011 season will return in 2012. The three newcomers are the Croatia Open, the Brunswick Italia Challenge and the Brunswick French Open.

2012 European Bowling Tour Masters returns to single lane condition

European Tenpin Bowling Federation reacts to EBT tournament organizers' decision

2009ETBFLogo_small.jpgThe presidium of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation has announced that the season-ending EBT Masters will be contested on a single lane conditioning pattern effective for the 2012 Masters. The ETBF reacts to the almost unanimous decision of the EBT tournament organizers to run the tournaments on single lane condition. "As a consequence the (ETBF) Presidium has decided to conduct also the EBT Masters on a single lane condition in the future", ETBF VP Kim Thorsgaard Jensen stated.

ETBF announced two changes in the 2011 European Bowling Tour schedule

EBT Masters 2013 awarded to Bratislava, Slovakia

2011EBTLogo_small.jpgThe European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) has announced that the schedule for the 2011 European Bowling Tour has been changed. The Norwegian Open in Oslo, Norway, originally scheduled for Aug. 5-14, will be postponed to August 19-28, 2011. The BNC Open in Bratislava, Slovakia, originally scheduled for Aug. 22-28, will be held Aug. 15-21. The ETBF Presidium has decided to appoint Bratislava as host of EBT Masters 2013 immediately following the BNC Open 2013. The dates are not decided yet.

Brunswick Euro Challenge receives EBT Platinum status in 2011

Tournament features 106.000 Euro prize fund, round robin and 3-player stepladder final

2010EBT05BECLogo_small.jpgThe 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge has been granted "Platinum" status for the 2011 European Bowling Tour by the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF). The total prize fund will increase by 16.000 Euro to a total prize fund of 106.000 Euro. The organizers have also changed the format of the finals. The 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge will be held from March 4th through 13th at Le Plaza Bowling in St. Maxim at the outskirts of Paris, France. The 2011 EBT consists of 22 tournaments.

The 2011 EBT will consists of 7 gold tournaments, 7 silver tournaments 7 satellite tournaments and ends with the sole platinum tournament in Doha, Qatar, which will offer the highest prize fund of 120.000 Euro. The total prize fund of the 2011 EBT will exceed 1.1 million Euro.

Two tournaments cancelled, one postponed, 2010 Masters moved to Denmark

2010EBTLogo_small.jpgWithin in a week, the 2010 European Bowling Tour lost two of its tournaments and was reduced to 19 events as the Austria Challenge (EBT Silver) in Vienna and the Ankara Open (EBT Gold) in Turkey have been cancelled by the organizers. The EBT also announced that the tournament in Torneo Internazionale di Roma, Italy was postponed from September to November and the 2010 EBT Masters will be moved from Vienna to Aalborg, Denmark.

Ljubljana, Slovenia to host European Bowling Tour Masters 2011

2010EBTLogo_small_0.jpgThe European Bowling Tour has announced that bowling center "Gladiator Arena" in Ljubljana, Slovenia will host the 2011 EBT Masters. The 2011 Masters is the season-ending event of the 2010 European Bowling Tour featuring the top 16 men and the top 16 women of the tour's 2010 point rankings. The 2011 Masters will be conducted on April 11-12 immediately following the 5th QubicaAMF Open 2011, an EBT event. Paul Moor, England, and Kamilla Kjeldsen, Denmark, are the defending EBT Masters champions.

The Gold, Silver and Satellite tournaments will be sandwiched between the two Platinum events, the 40th annual Brunswick Ballmaster Open and the Qatar Bowling Open. The total prize fund of the 2010 EBT will exceed 1.2 million Euro, an average prize fund of approximately 55.000 € per stop.

6th Oltremare Championships, an EBT Major, has been cancelled

2009EBTLogo_small.jpgStefano Coppa, organizer of the Oltremare Championships in Naples, Italy has informed European Bowling Tour director Kim Thorsgaard Jensen that the 2009 edition of the event has been cancelled. The 6th Oltremare Championships, an EBT Major, was scheduled for November 14-22, 2009 as the 16th stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour. The 2009 European Bowling Tour now consists of 15 tournaments - 11 Majors and 4 Challengers. The next stop is the 5th Storm San Marino Open from July 4-12, 2009.

Ankara Open status changes from Premier to Major due to reduced prize money

2009EBTLogo_small.jpgAs a consequence of the global financial crisis, the organizer of Ankara Open, the 13th stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour, has announced that the prize fund of the 2009 tournament will be reduced to 70.000 Euro. In agreement with the European Tenpin Bowling Federation Presidium the Ankara Open changes loses its "Premier" status and changes to EBT "Major". The Ankara Open will be conducted September 5-13, 2009 at Rollhouse Bowling Center Bilkent.

Ballmaster applies for Platinum status in 2010

Prize fund raises to 105.000 Euro with 15.000 going to the winner

BallmasterOpenLogo_small.jpgIn the year 2010, the Ballmaster Open tournament in Finland will celebrate its 40th anniversary. To underline the status as the longest running bowling tournament in Europe and the sole tournament which was on the European Bowling Tour schedule in every season since the tour's inception in the year 2000, tournament organizer Kimmo Lehtonen has applied for Platinum status in 2010 and has raised the total prize fund from 75.000 to 105.000 Euro. Lehtonen, a long-time Finish national team member and 2005 World Ranking Masters champion, has also announced that the Ballmaster finals will feature 16-player Round Robin match play followed by a stepladder final.
