Moor wins yet another EBT title in Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament

    2007EBT02Top4.jpg Qualifying leader Paul Moor from England posted games of 236 and 279 to easily win the championship round in the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2007 at Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands, and the 5.000 Euro.

    The 3-time European ranking leader beat out second-placed Osku Palermaa from Finland, 515-435. Dutch Peter Smits and Maarten Pittens finished third and fourth.

    Martina Beckel    , Germany, was the top ranked woman in 9th place to win the women rankings.

    Moor wins qualifying in Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament


    Paul_Moor_4732.jpg Paul Moor from England led the 211-player qualifying field in the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament on dual lane condition (one lane with long, one lane with short oil) with 1436 pinfall total and an average of 239.33 over six games.

    The top 55 players from the qualifying (cut was 1295) plus the top 5 from the Desperado Squad advanced to the finals on Sunday, Feb. 18. The top 20 qualifiers (cut was 1360) earned one bye.

    All other players will be seeded into ten groups with four players each with the top two from each group after two games advancing to the next round. The Groups will be trimmed to 6, 4, 2 and the one to determine the champion, who will walk away with 5.000 Euro.

    Though a Challenger tournament, the Bronzen Schietspoel offers double ranking points as it is a test event conducted on dual lane condition (on a pair of lanes the left lane is dressed with long oil and the right lane is dressed with short oil).

Paul Moor from England remained in the lead with 1436 followed by Mikael Brændeskov, Denmark with 1434.

    Moor totaled 1436 pins, an average of 239.33 to top previous leader Peter Smits by 16 pins. Smits slipped to fourth with 1420 as Dane Mikael Brændeskov (1434) and Israel's Or Aviram (1423) overtook the second and third place. Niels Jakob Bak, Denmark, is fifth with 1403.

    Places 2-4 belong to Danes. European champion Mai Ginge Jensen is second with 1394 including her 48 pins handicap. Anders Hansen is third with 1376, followed by Jesper Agerbo, who shot a 299 in the last game and Rikke Holm Rasmussen, both 1371. Three-time defending ranking champion Paul Moor sits in sixth place with 1362.
