World Doubles Champion Robert Andersson, right-handed, defeated Magnus Andersson, lefthanded, both Sweden, 213-194, to win the sixth event on the 2007 European Bowling Tour, the Husqvarna International in Jönköping, Sweden, and the 10.000 Euro top prize.
Magnus was consoled with 5.000 Euro. In the semi-finals, Robert ousted James Gruffman, Sweden, while Magnus eliminated Finn Kimmo Lehtonen. Gruffman and Lehtonen received 2.600 each for finishing third and fourth.

Zara Glover (left, 6th) won the women's rankings and ranking 100 points, with Nina Flack (right, 8th) in second place. Both were eliminated in the quarterfinals but Glover was the higher seed based on the standings after Final Round One.

4-time reigning European Champion Petteri Salonen from Finland rolled a 1437 six-game series in the first round of the finals to earn the No. 1 seed for single-elimination match play in the Husqvarna International. In addition Salonen and the next seven players will bypass the first match play round in which players seeded 9-24th will meet in best-of-five games matches.
Swedes James Gruffman and qualifying leader Martin Larsen were in second and third with 1422 and 1388, respectively. Fourth place belonged to Mathias Årup with 1363. Zara Glover was the best of five women, who made the second cut, but the sole among the top 8 in fifth place with 1357 including 48 pins handicap.
Rounding out the top 8 were Dane Lars Nielsen (1356), Svein Roger Olsen, Norway (1344) and Finn Kimmo Lehtonen (1328). Stuart Williams (left), England, took the 24th and final spot with 1263, an average of 210.50.
Among those, who failed to make the cut were both ranking champions, Paul Moor, England and Britt Brøndsted, Denmark, American Tim Mack, former 3-time World Champion Anders Öhman, Sweden and World Cup champion Osku Palermaa from Finland, who won the last EBT tournament in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The top 8 will bowl the winners in the Round of 16. The highest ranked player will bowl the lowest seed, etc. The field will be trimmed to the four finalists, who will determine the champion in one-game matches. The winner will receive the 10.000 Euro top prize.

World Doubles Champion Martin Larsen from Sweden won the qualifying in the Husqvarna International at Jönköping Bowling Arena in Jönköping, Sweden, the sixth stop of the 2007 European Bowling Tour.
Larsen was the sole player, who cracked the 1500-bar over six games with 1504 pinfall total and an average of 250.67. The Swede leads the top 46 after qualifying and the top 4 from the Desperado Squad - total 50 players - into the first round of the finals.
Martin Blixt was second with 1456, while Squad 1 leader Therese Forsell was the best of seven women, who survived the cut in third place with 1446 including the women's handicap of 8 pins per game.
Former Team USA member Tim Mack was the best non-Swedish player in fourth with 1414. Martin Paulsson, Sweden, led the 11th qualifying squad with 1360 to move into 14th, while Greek international, Leonidas Maragkos (right), topped the 12th and final qualifying squad on Saturday evening with 1330, good for 33rd place.
The cutoff number was 1307, a 217.83 average. Three players were tied at 1307 and seeded 44th through 46th due to the higher last game: Alix Yoan, France; Pär Svensson and Stefan Bergh, both Sweden.
Happy end for Swede Mikael Larsson, who missed the cut in 47th place by two pins. Larsson was tied for fourth place in the Desperado Squad at 238 and won the roll-off to secure the last spot for the finals.

Larsen wins qualifying in Husqvarna International
World Doubles Champion Martin Larsen from Sweden won the qualifying in the Husqvarna International at Jönköping Bowling Arena in Jönköping, Sweden, the sixth stop of the 2007 European Bowling Tour.Larsen was the sole player, who cracked the 1500-bar over six games with 1504 pinfall total and an average of 250.67. The Swede leads the top 46 after qualifying and the top 4 from the Desperado Squad - total 50 players - into the first round of the finals.
Martin Blixt was second with 1456, while Squad 1 leader Therese Forsell was the best of seven women, who survived the cut in third place with 1446 including the women's handicap of 8 pins per game.
Former Team USA member Tim Mack was the best non-Swedish player in fourth with 1414. Martin Paulsson, Sweden, led the 11th qualifying squad with 1360 to move into 14th, while Greek international, Leonidas Maragkos (right), topped the 12th and final qualifying squad on Saturday evening with 1330, good for 33rd place. The cutoff number was 1307, a 217.83 average. Three players were tied at 1307 and seeded 44th through 46th due to the higher last game: Alix Yoan, France; Pär Svensson and Stefan Bergh, both Sweden.
Happy end for Swede Mikael Larsson, who missed the cut in 47th place by two pins. Larsson was tied for fourth place in the Desperado Squad at 238 and won the roll-off to secure the last spot for the finals.
The 50 finalists will bowl six games from scratch to cut to the top 24, who will advance to single-elimination best-of-five games match play.
The top 8 will earn one bye and will be seeded 1-8 in the Round of 16. Places 9-24 advance to Round 2. The highest ranked player will bowl the lowest seed, etc.
Round 2 and the rounds of 16 and 8 trim the field to the four finalists, who will determine the champion in one-game matches. The winner will receive the 10.000 Euro top prize.

Olsson and Leandersson crack top 10 in Husqvarna International
Mats Olsson and Tomas Leandersson, both of Sweden, led the fifth and sixth qualifying squad in the Husqvarna International in Jönköping, Sweden, en route to crack the top 10 in the overall standings. Olsson felled 1408 pins to move into third position, while Leandersson's 1368 six-game total was good for seventh place. Martin Larsen (pictured) and Therese Forsell, both Sweden, continued to lead the sixth event of the 2007 European Bowling Tour with 1504 and 1446, resp.

Larsen cracks 1500-bar in Husqvarna International
Swedish national team members Martin Larsen and Tobias Karlsson set the pace in the third and fourth qualifying squad of the Husqvarna International at Jönköping Bowling Arena in Jönköping, Sweden. Larsen (left) became the first player, who cracked the 1500-bar, when he finished Squad 4 with 1504 six-game total, an average of 250.67, to overtake the qualifying lead. Karlsson led Squad 3 with 1383 to sit in third place. Previous leader Therese Forsell, Sweden, slipped to second place with 1446 pinfall total including the 48 pins women's handicap.

Forsell leads Early Bird squad in Husqvarna International
Pontus Halvarsson, Sweden, a four-time gold medalist at the 2006 European Youth Championships, led the second qualifying squad in the Husqvarna International at Jönköping Bowling Arena in Jönköping, Sweden, on Thursday. Halvarsson felled 1271 pins and averaged 211.83 for six games to move into 9th place in the qualifying standings.
