Pasi Uotila from Finland defeated Maarten Pittens, Netherlands, 202-195 to win the European Bowling Tour's 10th stop, the Storm Dutch Open 2007 at Dolfijn Bowling in Scheveningen, Netherlands and the 10.000 Euro top prize.

Pittens sidelined current European ranking leader Osku Palermaa, Finland, in the semis, 229-226, while Uotila eliminated Peter Smits, Netherlands, 244-210.

Pittens received 5.000 for finishing second, while Palermaa and Smits earned 2.500 each for third and fourth place, resp. Dane Kamilla Kjeldsen won the women's rankings.

Three of the top 8 qualifying leaders at the Storm Dutch Open 2007, who bypassed the Final Round One, were eliminated in the Round of 32 in best-of-three match play format. No. 32 seed, Luke Hampshaw, England, moved into the Round of 16 with a stunningly ruthless 2-0 victory over top seeded Martin Larsen, Sweden. Three-time defending ranking champion Paul Moor, England, seeded third, was eliminated by Bianca Wiekeraad (l.), Netherlands, 2-0. 4-time European Ranking champion (2000-03) Gery Verbruggen (r.) swept No. 7 seed Dennis Eklund, Sweden, 2-0.

Two-time women's European Ranking champion Kamilla Kjeldsen, Denmark led the top 24 players of Final Round One into the single-elimination finals at the Storm Dutch Open 2007. Those 24 will be seeded 9-32 and meet the top 8 qualifying leaders in best-of-three games match play. Kjeldsen will take on No. 24 Jouni Helminen, former European champion and currently the president of the Finnish Bowling Federation. No. 1 seed Martin Larsen, Sweden bowls Luke Hampshaw, England, who took the final spot in Final Round One due to higher last game (231-211) after a 1215 tie with Jari Ratia, Finland.

Michael Kok, Netherlands, rolled a 1365 six-game series Thursday at Dolfijn Bowling in Scheveningen, Netherlands to rise to the top of the qualifying leaderboard in the Storm Dutch Open 2007. Osku Palermaa, the two-handed World Cup champion, was eleven pins behind in second place at 1355.

Pittens (left) finished his six-game block with 231, 238 and 230 and a 1276 pinfall total. European Youth champions Wendy Kok and Bianca Wiekeraad (right) were in second and third with 1253 and 1244, respectively, including 48 pins women's handicap.
