    2007MECRobertAnderssonMartinLarsen_small.jpg Robert Andersson (l.) from Sweden won his second European Bowling Tour title this season after the Husqvarna International in April when he defeated No. 1 seeded Krista Pöllänen, Finland, in the title match of the 29th Trofeu Internacional Ciutat de Barcelona, 218-206 (including handicap). In the opening match of the three-player stepladder finals, Andersson topped his team mate, Martin Larsen (right), 208-174. The duo won the gold medal in the Doubles at the 2006 World Championships and silver at the recent European Championships.

With 50 per cent of the qualifying pinfall being carried forward, the qualifying leader had a 917 4-game series including handicap in the Round of 48 to set the pace with 1649 pinfall total.

Sweden World Champions in Doubles, Robert Andersson and Martin Larsen, were in third and fourth place with 1578 and 1571, resp. Fifth place belonged to 3-time European ranking champion Paul Moor, England, with 1565.

    The top 24 will bowl another 4 games with the pinfall being carried forward. The top 3 advance to the stepladder finals (one-game matches) to bowl for the title and the 10.000 Euro top prize.

    Pöllänen has a 121-pin buffer over the second-best woman, Ghislaine van der Tol, who is in 8th place with 1528. Van der Tol has won the last two women's ranking events in Malta and in San Marino, where she won the title.

Kai Günther, Germany, rolled the second-highest six-game series on Saturday to take the second place with 1400.
