ETBF Presidium introduces new European Bowling Tour Rules

Kim Thorsgaard Jensen, European Tenpin Bowling Federation Vice President and European Bowling Tour director, has informed us that as a consequence of recently observations the ETBF Presidium has decided to introduce a new chapter of the European Bowling Tour Rules (EBT Rules).
The new Chapter (13) is named Special playing rules in effect for the EBT and the chapter includes two sub-chapters, one to introduce a limitation in the number of re-racks and the other to stop un sportive pull outs of qualification squads just because the game might not work for a player for a while.
The sub chapters, as presented below, will be in effect as of stop 19 in the EBT 2005 (2nd Columbia Open - Oltremare Championships) in Naples, Italy and of course also in effect for the EBT 2006.
13 Special playing rules in effect for the EBT
13.1 A player is allowed maximum 2 re-racks per game without asking the tournament management for permission. Additional re-racks in the game can only be granted by the tournament management and should be limited to situations where it is obvious that the pin setting is clearly out of spots. If a player violates this rule the frame following the illegal re-rack will be set to zero.
13.2 If a player, without permission from the tournament management, leaves a qualification squad or a final stage before he/she has completed all games in the squad/stage, all previous scores of the player will be counted as zero and the player can not enter the tournament again at any later squad or final stage. In such cases eventually pre-paid entry fees for later squads will not be reimbursed.
