Danish Masters Classic replaces Hungarian Open on the 2006 European Bowling Tour

The European Tenpin Bowling Federation has announced that the Danish Masters Classic will replace the Hungarian Open on the 2006 European Bowling Tour. The tournament will be held from July 29 through August 13 at World Cup Hallen in Rodovre on the outskirts of Copenhagen, as the 13th of 20 Tour stops in 2006.
As earlier reported the organizer of the Hungarian Open have decided to withdraw from the 2006 European Bowling Tour. The ETBF had decided to fill the vacancy with an alternate tournament.
When the deadline for the application period (three weeks) ended, the ETBF Presidium had received one application only "The choice was easy." ETBF Vice President Kim Thorsgaard Jensen said.
The Danish Masters Classic - formerly known as Danish Masters - was on the EBT schedule in the first five years (2000-2004) before taking on off time during the 2005 EBT season. As the Danish Masters Classic meets all requirements for an "EBT major", the tournament was granted the "major" status on the 2006 Tour.
