Olsen, seeded fourth, won three consecutive matches including a 265-216 victory in the title match against defending champion Paul Moor. Brunell felled 964 pins in his first 4-game block to lead Ed Roberts, USA, by 13 pins. Wetterlund checked in with 878 to lead fellow countrywomen Marie Bengtsson and Christel Carlsson. The tournament, a regular EBT event, will be held at Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland, from January 26-29, 2006. The Irish Open is one of two tournaments on the Tour with men and women in separate divisions. The total prize fund is 25.000 Euro.     Irish Open Championships - Tournament tie rules

    Qualification and the final Round 1-4
    In case of a tie the highest ranked player will be the player with the highest last scratch game. If a tie still exists the highest ranked player will be the player with the highest second last scratch game, then the player with the highest third last scratch game etc.

    Final Round 5
    In case of a tie in one of the matches in the stepladder final a 9th and 10th frame roll off will be played, repeated until the tie is broken.


    Special playing rules in effect for the EBT

    A player is allowed maximum 2 re-racks per game without asking the tournament management for permission. Additional re-racks in the game can only be granted by the tournament management and should be limited to situations where it is obvious that the pin setting is clearly out of spots. If a player violates this rule the frame following the illegal re-rack will be set to zero.

    If a player, without permission from the tournament management, leaves a qualification squad or a final stage before he/she has completed all games in the squad/stage, all previous scores of the player will be counted as zero and the player can not enter the tournament again at any later squad or final stage. In such cases eventually pre-paid entry fees for later squads will not be reimbursed.
