ETBF, EBT and KEGEL sign agreement through 2011

The European Tenpin Bowling Federation, along with its ever increasing popular European Bowling Tour, has extended their partnership with Kegel to be recognized as the Official Lane Maintenance Company for the ETBF and to provide lane maintenance at all EBTF Championships and selected EBT stops through 2011.

During all ETBF Championships and EBT organizers accepting Kegel's sponsorship, Kegel will exclusively use lane machines utilizing Kegel's patented Sanction Technology™ which continues to be the only technology on the market that can prove the volume of conditioner before it is applied to the lane surface. Kegel will also predominantly use their innovative line of battery machines, Kustodian Ion and Kustodian Walker, to condition the lanes during the tournaments.
In addition to the lane maintenance part of the agreement, Kegel will provide the ETBF Technical Committee with a new Kegel LaneMapper to efficiently and accurately inspect the bowling lanes in centers hosting ETBF Championship events as well as any bowling center wishing to obtain an ETBF Official Certification.
"ETBF is absolutely delighted having been able to renew the contract with Kegel. The Kegel Company and its very capable staff have taken a lot of "trouble" off our back during the past three years when it comes to lane maintenance and dressing the lanes. It was for my presidium and for our EBT Director never a question if we wanted to renew the contract. Fortunately our counterpart Kegel was also prepared to renew the contract and even make it more attractive for ETBF and the EBT. We are looking forward to another three years of cooperation." said ETBF President Addie Ophelders.
"The bowling environment is ever changing and Kegel is constantly studying all the variables that make up the playing field in an attempt to achieve equal opportunity for the players." said Ted Thompson who is Kegel's liaison with the ETBF and EBT. "I believe the ETBF Presidium and the players recognize that Kegel's main interest is furthering the growth of the sport by researching and developing products as well as procedures that enhance the sport of bowling. We thank the ETBF Presidium for giving us the opportunity with this latest agreement to continue that quest."
