Jasmine Yeong-Nathan (l.) powered her way into the lead in the women's division of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The 20-year-old started the second day of the preliminaries in second place and moved to the top of the leaderboard thanks to a 276 in game #3 and the tournament's third 300 in the last game. Yeong-Nathan felled 1436 pins on Monday and leads the field with 2816 12-game total and an average of 234.67.
Krista Pöllänen, Finland, also moved up one spot from third to second with 2739, while day one leader
Zara Glover, England, dropped 10 spots to 11th place with 2553. The women competition will continue on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. local time with the third block.
Bigi Manico, the multiple Swiss champion, who bowled the in the women's division of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, is filling in for Bowlingdigital and interviewed Sweden's Martin Larsen before the Round of 24. Martin, 29, is a long-time Swedish national team member and 3-time time World Champion in Team (2) and Doubles. He led the men's division after the first day of the preliminaries, slipped to sixth place on Day two, moved up to fourth after day three and finished the preliminaries in third place with 5326 pinfall total and an average of 221.92. Team USA member Derek Eoff (l.) maintained his pole position at the end of the men's preliminaries in the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup as the field of 82 players was cut to the top 24. Eoff posted a 1344 series Wednesday at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico to finish the 24-game preliminaries with 5500 pinfall total and an average of 229.17. The battle for the 24th place was a nail-biter. When the dust had settled Jonathan Hocsman from Argentina, Korean Choi Won-Young and Marek Przezpolewski (r.), Poland landed in 22nd to 24th place, all tied at 4988 (207.83).

Katrien Goossens (r.), Belgium, took the 24th and final spot to advance with 4802 or an average of 200.08. The advancing players will bowl another 6-game block on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. to cut to the top 8.

The 20-year-old holds a 197-pin buffer over defending champion Ann-Maree Putney, Australia. Cookie Lee (r.), Hong Kong, rolled the 4th 300 game of the event. The women will conclude the preliminaries Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Jasmine Yeong-Nathan, Singapore, posted the third 300 game of 44th QubicaAMF Bowling Monday evening at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico, during the second day of the preliminaries. The perfecto was the 41st in the history of the prestigious event and the 8th by woman. Shalin Zulkifli from Malaysia became the first woman, who rolled a perfect game in the World Cup history, in the 1997 edition in Cairo, Egypt. Nikita Koshelev set the highlight on the second day of the preliminaries when he posted the second 300 game of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico. It was the 40th perfecto in the history of the Bowling World Cup and the 33rd by a man. Koshelev became the first player of his country who joined the elite BWC 300 club. Jack Guay from Canada, who competes in this year's event, made history in 1994 when he rolled the first ever 300 game in a World Cup also in Hermosillo but in a different bowling center. Eoff felled 2790 pins and averaged 232.50 over his 12 games. Hussain Al Suwaidi led Squad B on Monday afternoon to leap into second place with 2659 (221.58). Russian Nikita Koshelev (r.) set the highlight when he posted the second 300 game of 2008 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The men will continue on Tuesday at noon and 4. p.m. with the third qualifying block. 
Team USA member Derek Eoff (pictured left) rolled a 1450 six-game series Monday at Bowl 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico, en route to lead men's Squad A after 12 games with 2790 12 -game total and an average of 232.50. With 41 out of 82 players having completed 12 games, the 3-time gold medalist in the 2007 Men's American Zone Championships holds a comfortable 134-pin lead over Luis Rodríguez from Puerto Rico. First block leader Martin Larsen, Sweden, fell two spots behind a 1259 series today. The 41 players from Squad B led by Canadian Jack Guay take on the 32 lanes at Bol 300 at noon. 
Colombia's Sara Vargas thrilled the big audience at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico, when she posted the first 300 game of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup and the seventh by a woman in the history of the Bowling World Cup. The 2006 World Ranking Masters champion, who traveled to Hermosillo as a spectator, was added to the tournament roster when travel complications forced Colombian qualifier Rocio Restrepo to miss the trip. The multiple World and European champion, who won the European Champions Cup last month, had games of 278, 244, 184, 200, 278 and 240 and the highest average of all competitors, both men and women, with 237.33. 82 men and 63 women representing 85 countries from around the world, their families, friends and guests, dignitaries, sponsors and local bowling fans were among the hundreds of people who turned out to see the 44th QubicaAMF World Cup kick off Saturday night at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico. The festive and energetic opening ceremonies gave guests a taste of Mexico's culture and flavor and welcomed the World Cup back to Hermosillo for the second time since 1994. To watch our videos
