John Janawicz, Brenda Edwards win 2010 Team USA Trials

Fagan, Hanson and Gaines, Maier also earn automatic spots on the 2010 Team

2010TeamUSATrialsJohnJanawiczBrendaEdwards_small.jpgJohn Janawicz of Winter Haven, Fla., held on for a slim victory, while Brenda Edwards of Mansfield, Texas, pulled away from the field to win the 2010 United States Bowling Congress Team USA Trials on Friday. Janawicz topped the men's field with a 36-game total of 8,168, an average of 226.8, while Edwards finished with 7,890, an average of 219.1, at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas. The top three men and top three women in the final standings earned automatic spots on Team USA.

Edwards is ahead of the women's field with a 27-game total of 5,937, an average of 219.8, while Janawicz held onto his lead in the men's division with 6,237 (231). Competition with Live Streaming concludes Friday with the last of four nine-game blocks.

Falk leads the women's field with 3,992 for 18 games, an average of 221.7. Janawicz has an 18-game total of 4,190, an average of 232.7, at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas. Competition and Live Streaming continues Thursday with the third of four nine-game blocks.

(pictured), took the lead after the opening round Tuesday at the 2010 United States Bowling Congress Team USA Trials. Hanson topped the men's field with a nine-game block of 2,117, an average of 235.22, while Falk shot 2,024 for her nine games, an average of 224.88, at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas. Competition continues Wednesday with the live streaming of the second of four nine-game blocks.

Cassidy Schaub looks to defend Team USA Trials title

Schaub has dealt with success and disappointment since winning the 2009 USBC Team USA Trials (pictured with women's champion Liz Johnson) last December, a title he hopes to defend starting Monday at the 2010 USBC Team USA Trials, which will be held Dec. 14-18 at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino's Strike Zone Bowling Center in Henderson, Nev.

Team USA spots up for grabs at Sunset Station in Las Vegas

The 2010 USBC Team USA Trials will be conducted Dec. 14-18, 2009 at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas. The top three men and top three women finishers at the Team USA Trials will earn automatic spots on Team USA 2010, while the National Selection Committee will pick another two men and two women to join the team.
