Barnes, O'Sullivan win U.S. Amateur titles

2007TTDavidOsullivanLyndaBarnes_small.jpg David O'Sullivan and Lynda Barnes topped a field of the nation's top amateur bowlers over four days to earn U.S. Amateur titles Thursday at the 2007 USBC Team USA Trials. Barnes, a 10-time Team USA member, won her third U.S. Amateur title by shooting 8,816 for 40 games, an average of 220. O'Sullivan, a two-time All-American at Morehead State University, earned a spot on Team USA for the first time by totaling 8,841.

Rhino Page of Fresno, Calif., leads the men's field with 6,743.

Page and Milligan conquer the Shark pattern to lead Team USA Trials

2007TTRhinoPage.jpg 2007TTTennelleMilligan.jpg2005 U.S. National Amateur champion Rhino Page of Fresno, Calif., took the lead at the halfway point of the 2007 USBC Team USA Trials on Tuesday at the National Bowling Stadium. The three-time Team USA member totaled 4,329 for 20 games, an average of 216 per game. Tennelle Milligan of Costa Mesa, Calif., leads the women's field with 4,318.

Burgoyne and Villanueva lead Team USA Trials after Round 1

The changes she's made paid off Monday at the National Bowling Stadium as she led the women's field after 10 games with 2,273. Steven Villanueva of North Las Vegas, Nev., leads the men with 2,272.

PBA star Chris Barnes offers analysis of Team USA Trials lane patterns

The 156 men and nearly 80 women at the Trials, Jan. 6-12 at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, will battle for U.S. Amateur champion honors and spots on Team USA, which will compete in international competition in 2007 including the Pan American Games this July.

The 2007 United States Bowling Congress Team USA Trials will feature 40 games over four days to determine not only the men's and women's U.S. Amateur champions, but also the players who will represent Team USA in 2007.
