First spots on Team USA 2015 earned at Summer Trials

Shannon O'Keefe of O'Fallon, Illinois, Kayla Johnson of Washington, Illinois, Mike Fagan of Hurst, Texas, and Chris Colella of Templeton, Massachusetts, all bowled their way onto the team in the three-day event.

Summer Team USA Trials begin Friday at International Training and Research Center

Live Streaming begins Friday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern on BOWL.com's BowlTV

SummerTeamUSATrialsLogo_small.jpgTwo men's and two women's spots on Team USA in 2015 will be up for grabs this weekend when an elite squad of athletes compete in the United States Bowling Congress Summer Team USA Trials. The International Training and Research Center will host the competition, which begins Friday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern live on BOWL.com's BowlTV. After three days of competition Team USA spots will be given to the top two men and top two women after 15 total games.

Chris Barnes, Brittni Hamilton win Team USA Trials titles

2014TeamUSATrialsBrittniHamiltonChrisBarnes_small.jpgChris Barnes of Double Oak, Texas, and Brittni Hamilton of Wood-Ridge, N.J., overcame a grueling format to claim the titles at the 2014 USBC Team USA Trials. Barnes blew away Mike Fagan of Hurst, Texas, 231-163, to take the men's title, while Hamilton narrowly edged Shannon Pluhowsky of Dayton, Ohio, 205-196, to claim the women's championship. All of the players who advanced to the stepladder finals earned automatic spots on Team USA in 2014.

Chris Barnes, Shannon Pluhowsky lead Team USA Trials after four rounds

Barnes leads the men with 32 points, while Pluhowsky is tops among women with 29 points. Barnes needs to finish 31st or higher and Pluhowsky needs to finish 29th or higher in Wednesday's final round to be guaranteed a spot in the finals regardless of how anyone else does.

John Janawicz, Kelsey Muther on top after three rounds at Team USA Trials

Janawicz (l.) picked up his second first-place finish in three rounds Monday and leads the men with 18 points, while Muther (r.), who has has finishes of 17th, fifth and third so far, leads the women with 25 points at The Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas.

Robert Gotchall, Sarah Lokker move into Team USA Trials lead after second round

Gotchall (l.) is on top of the men's field with 12 points (four points for fourth place in Round 1 and eight points for finishing eighth in Round 2), while Lokker (r.) leads the women with 13 points (two in Round 1 and 11 in Round 2).

Kelly Kulick, John Janawicz lead Team USA Trials after Round 1

2014TeamUSATrialsJohnJanawicz_small.jpgAfter the opening round of qualifying, Kelly Kulick of Union, N.J., and John Janawicz of Winter Haven, Fla., lead the 2014 United States Bowling Congress Team USA Trials. Kulick (l.) paced the women's division on the 38-foot Atlanta pattern with a six-game total of 1,361 (226.83 average) while Janawicz finished the day with three strikes to narrowly lead the men's field with 1,384 (230.67 average) at The Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas.

Team USA Trials set to break entry records

175 men and 105 women to bowl for spots on Team USA and Junior Team USA for 2014

2014TeamUSATrialsLogo_small.jpg The 2014 United States Bowling Congress Team USA Trials is poised to be the largest Trials in history, breaking the record for men's, women's and overall entries. The Trials, which will take place Jan. 3-8 at The Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas, has a sold-out men's division with 175 entries and 105 entries in the women's division. All rounds of the competition will be broadcast live on BOWL.com's BowlTV.
