Canadian Tenpin Federation announces 2011 Bowlers of the Year

The CTF has announced the 2011 Bowlers of the Year awards. Caroline Lagrange, Montreal, Quebec and Dan MacLelland, Windsor, Ontario are the adult awardees. In the Senior division, Debbie Ip, Edmonton, Alberta and Jack Brace, Toronto, ON are the winners. Youth Bowlers of the Year are Zachary Wilkins, Barrie, ON and Andreanne Blouin, Charlesbourgh, Quebec.
Lagrange (pictured right) was the Women's gold medalist at the Canadian National Championships and earned the silver medal in the prestigious All Events division of the World Women's Championships.
She also just missed a medal in the Doubles event, finishing fourth with Isabelle Rioux, Trios Rivieres, QC. This is Lagrange's sixth women Bowler of the Year award. She earned the honour in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010.
MacLelland (left) was the men's gold medalist at the CNC and earned medals in every event at the Pan American Men's Championships including the gold medal in the Masters event beating full-time touring pros Bill O'Neill and Chris Barnes along the way.
Ip earned the silver medal in the Senior Women's division at the CNC and represented Canada at the Pan American Senior Championships where she won the silver medal in Women's All Events and bronze in the Women's Trios.
Brace had a dominate year winning the gold medal in the Senior Men's division at the CNC and finished 7th overall (adult and seniors). He won four medals representing Canada at the Pan American Senior Championships - gold in team, silver in men's doubles and trios and bronze in the masters.
In the youth division, Blouin earned five medals at the Canadian Youth Championships. She represented Canada in the Youth division of the Tournament of the Americas and took home bronze medals in the Junior A Female singles and the National All Events. She also had two fourth place finishes.
Wilkins was the boy's gold medalist at the CYC and as a member of the bowling team of Urbana University in Ohio, is the second ranked collegiate bowler in the United States collegiate bowling.
The awards will be presented at various CTF events in the coming months.
