13th Annual Mini Eliminator going strong By Jim Goodwin
05/29/06
In these lean days for most bowling tournaments, Steve Sanders and his Mini Eliminator keep knocking 'em down!
When the 13th Annual Mini Eliminator rolls at the beautiful Orleans Las Vegas July 1-9, it will be an event with 10 corporate sponsors, more than any other megabuck event.
This Pinacle Events tournament is presented by the world's #1 bowling company – Brunswick, and the lucky 13th edition, with five unique events in one, will be one of the biggest ever.
Brunswick leads the list with its overall sponsorship, the Brunswick Free Practice Range, and the $100,000 Brunswick Shootout where 350 bowlers will earn TWO Brunswick bowling balls. Lane conditions and precise oil patterns will be provided by the incredible new Brunswick Authority 22 lane cleaning and oiling machine.
Sweepers are back on the Mini menu, and the newest sweeper is sponsored by the Mini's newest sponsor, Lane #1, makers of the incredible Buzzsaw bowling balls. Their latest offering is the all new Buzzsaw/C2 Carbide Plus+, and it will be available for drilling during the Mini.
This year's Lane #1 Matchplay Shootout Sweeper will be held on July 4 and July 6, and with only 280 total entries, will pay $5000 first place. In rounds 1 and 2, Lane #1 will award the 10 bowlers with the highest losing games with new Lane #1 balls.
Dexter Shoes is the sponsor for the July third and July fifth sweepers, which will feature a 2-game qualifying format with no finals. One in five will cash, and first place will pay $5000 with only 200 entries (100 per squad).
Walk-Ins Welcome
No Mini Eliminator bowlers will be shut out unless a squad is completely full, so anyone wishing to enter any of the 22 qualifying squads in the Mini Main Event need only show up one hour prior to the starting time.
Other events boast of their big payoffs, but the Mini Eliminator is the only megabuck where over 500 bowlers are estimated to win a minimum of $750 and where making the finals GUARANTEES a TRIPLE RETURN ON THE ENTRY FEE.
The Mini Eliminator is presented by Pinacle Events and Brunswick, the world's leader in bowling. Additional sponsors include Turbo 2-N-1 Grips, MoRich, Lane #1, KR Strikeforce, Goodpayer.com, Bowlingball.com, Dexter, and Bowlers Journal International Magazine.
