Frank Ellenburg named Tournament Director of the Generations Bowling Tour

The Generations Bowling Tour (GBT) has announced that it has named Hall of Famer Frank Ellenburg the Tournament Director for the new 35 event tour.
Bowling legends including Mark Roth, Johnny Petraglia, among others, will compete throughout the year for more than $5 million in prizes beginning on September 29 in Bay City, MI. The announcement was made by Steve Sanders, President of Pinacle Events and Founder of the GBT.
In this role, Frank Ellenburg (pictured left) will be responsible for coordinating and executing all GBT tournaments. He and his staff will explain and enforce tournament rules, supervise lane oiling procedures, coordinate schedules, and keep the events moving on an exact schedule.
In addition to his work with the GBT, Ellenburg continues to serve as tournament director for the well regarded Mini Eliminator events staged by Pinacle Events. Prior to joining the Mini Eliminator in 1993, he held the same title for the American Dream Classic, and spent 16 years on the PBA Tournament Committee while a touring pro.
Ellenberg is a respected member of the bowling community for over 30 years and winner of two national titles during his playing career including one at the prestigious ABC Masters event. His successful career as a bowler earned him a place in both the Phoenix City and Arizona State Halls of Fame.
He has also taken his love of the sport on-air as a color commentator for many professional bowling events. He lives in Phoenix with his daughter Lauren.
The GBT also announced that bowling industry veteran Rick Hudson (pictured right) will work alongside Ellenburg as the Assistant Tournament Director. He will supervise the Pro-Am events and back-up Ellenburg on all aspects of the tournaments.
Previously, Hudson has worked as both an assistant and executive tournament director with the PBA and PWBA tours. He also understands all aspects of tournament coordination, as he has overseen several bowling centers.
"Frank and Rick's in-depth knowledge of the sport and its inner-workings are great assets for these important positions," said Sanders (l.). "We have the utmost confidence in their ability and know that they have the respect of players, the experience, and track record to ensure that every GBT event is a first-class successful tournament."
The Generations Bowling Tour (GBT) is a membership organization that features the greatest bowlers over the age of 50 competing in a national tour throughout the year. The GBT is offering $5 million in prize money for its 35 events and a legendary line-up of bowlers including Roth, Petraglia, Nelson Burton Jr, David Ozio, Dave Davis, Dave Soutar and Marshall Holman.
To complement the competitive professional tour, all GBT events will include an interactive fan festival for bowlers of all ages.
