2005 American Rankings North Region

The USBC Masters tournament and the ABC/WIBC Mixed Championships were the final ranking events in the North Region of the American Zone. The tournaments provided a few changes in the ranking but not atop the men's and women's leaderboard. George Lambert IV, Welland, Ontario, Canada and Diandra Asbaty, Chicago, Illinois, USA became the first North Region ranking champions.
2005 U.S National Amateur champion Rhino Page and Ken Hunter, Canada, finished second and third in the men's ranking. Page's female counterpart, QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup champion Lynda Barnes and Robin Crawford, Canada, finished second and third in the women's ranking.
Ed Roberts, Braintree, Maine, moved into a tie for 10th as a result of his performance at the Punta Cana Open a Central/Caribbean Region event.
Jonathan Simoneau, Laval, Quebec, Dan Patterson, Phoenix, Arizona, and Mark Buffa, Montreal, Quebec moved into 11th, 13th and 14th place respectively for the men as a result of their performance in the USBC Masters event.
Patricia Harp, Orlando, Florida moved into 11th place for women as a result of her performance in the ABC/WIBC Mixed Championships.
The American Zone has been divided into three regions: North, Central/Caribbean and South. The North region consists of mere three countries, United States, Canada and Mexico. The top 16 men and 16 women in each region with the highest point total will be eligible for the Final Ranking Tournament American Zone 2005. No Mexican bowler - man or woman - is among the top 16. The sole Mexican among the top 20 is Benjamin Corona, who finished 18th in the men's rankings.
The tournament originally scheduled for December 6-10, 2005 in Panama has been postponed until February 28 - March 3, 2006. Lack of players able to attend during the December dates was cited as the reason for the change.
The 8 men and 8 women who will represent the American Zone at the World Ranking Masters will be selected from this event. The World Ranking Masters includes the top 8 ranking men and women from the three zones, who will bowl for a separate prize fund. The 2006 WRM will be held in Kuwait, May 9-15, 2006.
