The field is set for the MoRich Mixed Doubles National Championship at the Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nev. John Petraglia/Angela Chirpich and Genie Franklin/Jim Carter led the final two squads on Sunday 10 and 12pm.

As only sixteen teams advanced from the eight qualifying squads, the semi-finals will be skipped and the sixteen teams will determine the champion in best-of-three-games match play finals. The winning team will walk away with the $16,000 top prize.

 PBA Hall-of-Famer John Petraglia, Manapalan, IA, teamed with Angela Chirpich, Maukee, IA, to lead the 10am squad with 1274 three-game total. The 14-time PBA champion and five-time PBA Senior champion, who completed the Triple Crown and is one of three players who won PBA titles in five decades (Dick Weber and Dave Soutar are the others), struggled in his first two games (189-169) but finished with a huge 279-game to tie Chirpich, who rolled games of 191, 246 and 200, at 637.

Also advancing from this squad were former PWBA superstar Leanne Barrette and Jeff Frankos with 1268 total. The 26-time PWBA champion from Elk Grove, CA contributed 590, while Franckos, Dalay City, CA, had 678. Former Team USA member Andrew Cain and another former PWBAer Keli Callahan (nee Rapp) finished in third position with 1250 followed by Joe Yockman Jr. and Darlee Horiuchi with 1237. Both teams cashed $800 each, double the entry fee.

 Jim Carter of Keller, Texas and Genie Franklin, Frisco, Texas, easily won the eighth and final squad with 1312 pinfall total. Carter had games of 246, 195 and 233 for 674, while Franklin added 638 (189, 235, 214). Joining them in the finals are Amy and Chris Viale of Westfield, MA, who finished second with 1230.

Steve Kloempken, a former Team USA member and two-time World Champion, and former PWBA professional Marcia Kamrowski settled for third place with 1215, Fourth place went to Mexicans Amkie Isaac and Iliana Lomeli also with 1215. Both teams pocketed $800 each.

The players take a four-hour break to watch the Super Bowl XL featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks. During the game, The Orleans Hotel, Casino and Bowling Center will conduct a 'Bowlers Only' Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament and many of the 'celebrity' bowlers in the MoRich Mixed Doubles will test their card-playing skills before the Finals.
