Nine bowlers from the first qualifying squad on Wednesday, the ninth squad overall, have qualified for the Daily Finals of the 5th Annual Super Bowl Mini Eliminator here in Las Vegas, Nev.
Leading the 82 players of all seven divisions was Daniel Miyamoto from Mililani, HI, with 726 three-game total in the Open Division. Qualifying continues today with three more squads on 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.
The player with the highest daily 3-game series from each of the five main divisions (39 and under, 40-49, 50-59, 205 and under, Open) will be seeded into the Grand Finale. They do not bowl in the Daily Finals. 1 in 8 players will advance every day to the Daily Finals. The five divisional winners of the Daily Finals also advance to the Grand Finale and are guaranteed a minimum of $1,250 each.
Cuts to the finals for the woman and the 60 and over is done on a daily basis. All advancing women will bowl in their appropriate age division in the Daily Finals, while the Senior and the Super Senior division will be combined.
The only time the five divisions are combined is for the finals shootout game of the Grand Finale. The final shootout game will feature the five division champions, each of whom have earned a minimum of $10,000 and will bowl one game for the $50,000 top prize.
