The first of seven qualifying days in the 5th Annual Super Bowl Mini Eliminator at the Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nev. ended with the daily finals. Another five players, one from each of the main divisions, qualified for the Grand Finale on Sunday, Feb. 12 and is guaranteed a minimum of $1,250.

1 in 8 players of each division advanced to the Daily Finals. The players with the high daily series in each division do not bowl in the Daily Finals as they are automatically qualified for the Grand Finale.

The Daily Finals format is simple: Roll one game and beat half the field in your division to advance. Each round you advance you win more money. The last remaining bowler in each division advances to the Grand Finale and is guaranteed a minimum of $1,250. The number of rounds in the Daily Final is based on the number of bowlers advancing from each division.

On Monday, two divisions bowled just one round, two other divisions bowled two rounds and the 39 and under Division bowled three Rounds. First round losers cashed $250, second round losers garnered $450 and Round 3 loser Allen Nichols received $650.

The remaining bowlers in the five divisions were Matt Henning, Chun Bae, James Denos, Del Lee and Don Allen. Qualifying continued Tuesday through Saturday with four squads at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm, as well as with the Daily Finals at 9pm. The Qualifying ends on Sunday with the final two squads at 10am and noon.

76 players overall will advance to the Grand Finale which will be played in the same format as the daily finals until the five divisional champions are determined. Those five will bowl a one-game shootout match for the $50,000 top prize.
