Swanson, Smith and Boghosian advance to Daily Finals

Former PBA Touring pro Sean Swanson shot the field-best 737 three-game series in the first qualifying squad on Thursday, to advance to the Daily Finals in the Open Division of the Mini Eliminator. Joining Swanson this evening at 9pm are two ABC Masters champions, Bryon Smith (pictured right, 2003) and Brian Boghosian (1999), who landed in second and third place with 668 and 667.
Two former U.S. National Amateur Champions, Scott Norton (2001) and Richard Fairley Jr., (pictured2004) finished close behind in fourth and fifth place with 652 and 651. 22 of 118 players beloned to the Open Division. 1 in 8 players of each main division advance every day to the Daily Finals.
Stoney Brown (649), Ron Case (647) and John Harper (637) made it in the 39 and under Division. Bill Kazmierski (630) and Dane Martinson (617) led the 40-49 Division. Gary Emerson (694), Edward Petrie and Hiroshi Ohashi (both 662) advanced from the 50-59 Division. Kevin McNeal (673) and Yutaka Ido of Japan (621) secured their spots in the 205 and under Division.
64 of the 70 lanes in the Orleans Bowling Center were in use during the 13th of 26 qualifying squads including lanes 1-6 for the Brunswick Practice Range.
