Brown and Kazmierski win again in 14th qualifying squad

Stoney Brown, Vancouver, WA, and Bill Kazmierski, Pinconning, MI, won their second consecutive qualifying squad Thursday in the 5th Annual Super Bowl Mini Eliminator here in Las Vegas. Brown improved his score in the 39 and under Division from 649 to 728, while Kazmierski topped his previous 630-high by 18 pins to lead the 40-49 Division with 648. Both player target a spot in the Grand Finals for the Daily High Series.
2001 U.S. National Amateur Champions Scott Norton, Cypress, CA, who finished fourth in the 1pm squad with 652, won the 3pm squad with 691. Sean Swanson has the high series after two of four squads in this division with 737.
Dennis Psaropoulos of Lake Worth, FL shot a 714-high in the 50-59 Division behind a 528 series in the 1pm squad. Russell Webber, Athens, AL, led the 205 and under Division with 661. The high series was set by Kevin McNeal in the first squad today with with 673.
1 in 8 players will advance every day to the Daily Finals. The player with the highest daily 3-game series from each of the five main divisions will be seeded into the Grand Finale. They do not bowl in the Daily Finals.
