Swanson and Atria lead 17th qualifying squad with 750 and 745

Sean Swanson (pictured), Springfield, MO, and Vinnie Atria, Louisville, KY, shot three-game series of 750 and 745 to lead the 17th of 26 qualifying squads in the Super Bowl Mini Eliminator here at the Orleans Bowling Center. Both players advanced to the Daily Finals and are guaranteed $250.
Swanson already rolled a 737 Open Division high series yesterday en route to qualify for the Grand Finale on Sunday. He was practicing today as well as 2004 Super Bowl Mini Eliminator champion Lasse Lintilä from Finland, who advanced to the Daily Finals in third place with 714.
Atria, the 1998 Mini Eliminator champion led the Super Seniors Division (60 and over), which is a sub-Division of this years tournament such as the Women's Division. Cuts to the finals for the woman and Super Seniors is done on a daily basis. All advancing women will bowl in their appropriate age division in the Daily Finals, while the Senior and the Super Senior division will be combined.
Besides the high daily series in each division and the Daily Finals division winners, the top 2 women's series and the top 2 Super Senior not among the aforementioned will advance to the Grand Finale. A total of 76 players will battle it out for the $50,000 top prize on Sunday afternoon.
