Paul Moor wins Open Division Daily Finals to qualify for Grand Finale

The European ranking champion Paul Moor, England, has played well all week but was not yet qualified for the Grand Finale of the 5th Annual Super Bowl Mini Eliminator. After failing to advance in the Daily Finals on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the number 4 turned out to be his lucky number.
He defeated 2005 U.S. National Amateur champion Rhino Page in an all-lefty affair, 225-209, to book his spot for the finals on Sunday. Page, who was working on a six-bagger, needed one more strike to beat Moor, but got his third big split of the match.
Moor's fellow countrywoman Zara Glover had a chance to become the first female qualifier in this year's Super Bowl Mini Eliminator. She needed a strike on the first ball of the tenth frame but an 8-count sealed her fate. Texan John Harper won the match, 195-187, and a berth into the finals of the 39 and under Division.
Bill Kazmierski, Pinconning, MI, cruised to victory in the 40-49 Division, while Vinnie Atria won the Seniors/Super Seniors final. Steve Tomaras, Victor, MT, struck on his last four shots to come from behind and defeat Kiley Brannon, Spring Creek, NV, 173-159.
