Rosales leads 39 and under Division by closest possible margin

Raul Rosales (pictured), El Monte, CA, beat out Teddy Turner, San Diego, CA, 711 to 710, to set the high series in the 39 and under Division at the Mini Eliminator in the first of four squads on Saturday. William Holota, who cashed $2,500 for fourth place in the Brunswick Shootout, was the third player in the division to advance to the Daily Finals.
The players with the highest daily 3-game series from each of the five main divisions (39 and under, 40-49, 50-59, 205 and under, Open) will be seeded into tomorrow's Grand Finale. They do not bowl in the Daily Finals.
1 in 8 players in each division advance every day to the Daily Finals and battle it out for the second spot in the Grand Finale in each division. All finalists are guaranteed a minimum of $1,250.
Other squad leaders in Squad 21 (out of 26) were Rafael Gomez from Mexico, who shot a 658-series in the 40-49 Division; Roger LeClair (pictured), Clackamas, OR, who led the 50-59 Division with 652; Sadahiko Watanabe from Japan, who topped the 205 and under Division with 562; and David Ewald, Macomb, MI, who took the lead in the Open Division with 683.
