Tyler Jensen wins Super Bowl Mini Eliminator and $50,000

Tyler Jensen of Flower Mound, Texas, rolled a 224-game in the Grand Finale shootout match en route to win the 5th annual Super Bowl Mini Eliminator and the huge $50,000 top prize.
The 22-year-old Roto Grip Central United States Sales Manager survived a two-frame roll-off against Daniel Miyamoto, Mililani, HI, 50-40, to win the Open Division here at the Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nev., and to earn a berth into the title match.
The PBA member, who lives in the house of PBA superstar Chris Barnes and his wife Lynda, started the one-game shootout match against the four other division champions with three consecutive strikes and never looked back.
Jensen made two single-pin spares in the fourth and fifth frame, and then tossed a double to widen his lead. His opponents Raul Rosales, El Monte, CA (39 and under Division), Ricky Schissler, Henderson, CO (40-49), James Denos, Murray, UT (50-59), Del Lee, Hayward, CA (205 and under) opened at least once in the first five frames.
Jensen could even afford to miss a 10-pin spare in the eighth frame. "Lynda (Barnes) is going to kill me", said the winner afterwards. "I didn't want to carry too many balls around so I didn't bring my spare ball with me."
He didn't need a spare ball as he struck in the ninth and tenth frame to cruise to victory and to earn the biggest check in his career.
63-year-old Del Lee, who has chosen to bowl in the 205 and under division rather than in his age division finished with three strikes and an 8-count to take the second place with 196, worth $25,000.
Ricky Schissler and James Denos were close behind and tied for third place with 192. They split the prize money for third and fourth place and pocketed 11,750 apiece. Raul Rosales suffered three consecutive open frames early in the match and had to settle for fifth place with 169, worth $10,000.
