For the fourth time in the past five years, Tommy Jones and Shannon Pluhowsky are the Luci Doubles Champions, winning the 12th annual event in Houston named to honor former PWBA champion Luci Bonneau, who passed away in October 1999 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Jones and Pluhowsky took home $8000 for their victory, but the big winner was the Stehlin Foundation, the cancer research center that treated Bonneau that has been the official charity for the event since it was named for Bonneau. More than $50,000 went to Stehlin from donations and a full pro-am this year.

In the final match, Jones and Pluhowsky defeated Andres Gomez and Clara Juliana Guerrero, 439-399, for the title. Gomez and Guerrero earned $4000 for second place.

84 teams competed in the prestigious event, which took the top 16 to the match play finals. 21 teams cashed.

Among the national pro champions in the field were Michael Fagan, Lynda Barnes, Tennelle Milligan, Pete McCordic, Liz Johnson, Sean Rash, Carol Norman, Jodi Woessner, Patrick Allen, Shannon O'Keefe, Wes Malott, Carolyn Dorin- Ballard, Parker Bohn III, Robert Lawrence, Cheryl Keslar and Robin Romeo.
