Clara Guerrero pulls ahead of the women's field at American Zone Ranking Final

Clara Juliana Guerrero of Columbia widened her lead to 126 pins during the second block of eight games at the American Zone Ranking Final in Panama. The defending World Ranking Masters champion, who led the women's field on short oil (1804), finished the second block on long oil (1544) in third position for 3348 pinfall total and an average of 209,25.
Karen Marcano (right) of Venezuela remained in second position despite a 1465-series on Friday. Marcano has totalled 3222 pins, an average of 201,38. Her fellow countrywoman Inngellimar Contreras was the sole woman with a 200-plus average on long oil. Contreras, who is the chairwoman of the organizing committee for the 2006 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Caracas, posted a 1632-series to jump into third place overall with 3221. The American Zone Ranking Final concludes the 2005 American Zone ranking season. All players will bowl three 8-game blocks on short oil (34 feet), long oil (43 feet) and on short/long oil condition over three days to determine the eight women who will participate in the 2006 World Ranking Masters in Kuwait.
