Clara Guerrero.jpg Defending World Ranking Masters champion Clara Guerrero took the lead in the American Zone Ranking Final in Panama after the first of three 8-game blocks and never looked back. The Colombian finished atop the women's leaderboard with 4989 24-game total and an average of 207,88 after three blocks on short, long and short/long oil condition to lock up her spot for the 2006 World Ranking Masters in Kuwait.

Daniel Falconi cruises to victory in American Zone Ranking Final

Falconi, who took the lead after the second block, had a 1630 eight-game total on dual lane condition (one lane short oil, one lane long oil) to finish the three-day competition with 5027 pinfall total and an average of 209,46.

The defending World Ranking Masters championhas a 3348 16-game pinfall total and an average of 209,25. Karen Marcano (right) of Venezuela remained in second position with 3222. Her fellow countrywoman Inngellimar Contreras was the sole woman with a 200-plus average on long oil to jump into third place overall with 3221.

Carlo Sing leads men's field after Day 1 at American Zone Ranking Final

Carlo_Sing_5307.jpg Local favorite Carlo Sing finished his eight-game block on short oil (34 ft.) with games of 257 and 229 to help grab the lead in the men's division at the American Zone Ranking Final in Panama after Wednesday. Sing, who represented Panama in the 2005 World Games, checked in with 1700 pinfall total and an average of 212,50. Places two and three belonged to players from Puerto Rico, Luis RodrĂ­guez and Edgardo Ruiz.

Guerrero felled 1804 pins over eight games on the 34-foot short oil pattern, an average of 225,50, to lead Venezuelan Karen Marcano by 47 pins.

2005 American Zone Ranking Final is underway in Panama

The American Zone Ranking Final is underway at El Dorado Bowling Center in Panama City, Panama, March 1-4, 2006. The event will conclude the 2005 American Zone ranking season. All players will bowl three 8-game blocks to determine the 16 players - 8 women and 8 men - who will qualify for the 2006 World Ranking Masters in Kuwait. The first block on Thursday will be played on the 34-foot short oil pattern.
